Due to Budagov’s irresponsibility, house in Batumi collapsed

The court in Georgia found the detainees in the case of the tragedy on October 8, 2021, when nine people were killed during the collapse of a residential building in Batumi, including two minors.

The 47 -year -old owner of the apartment on the ground floor Azerbaijani Zaur Budagov, as well as two workers hired by Huseyn and George Surmanidze, were on the bench. By the decision of the Batumsk City Court, the first was sentenced to four years in prison, and two others – to three years.

The investigation came to the conclusion that the cause of the tragedy was repair and construction work carried out “with a gross violation of safety rules.” It is argued that on behalf of Budagov, two workers demolished both non -consuming and supporting walls.

Huseyn and George Surmanidze were convicted under the article “Damage or destruction of a thing by arson, explosion or other generally hazardous way, resulting in the incorrectness of the death of a person or other grave consequences.” Budagov is charged with “violation of safety rules in the conduct of mountain, construction or other works, which resulted in causing death of a person or other grave consequences.”

Recall that the entrance of a 5-storey residential building in the city of Batumi completely collapsed on the morning of October 8. On October 11, the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced due to the tragedy of mourning.
