Each fourth city in world predicted disasters

25 percent of the cities on Earth have no funds to protect against the destructive impact of climate change, writes The Guardian with reference to the study of the international project disclosing data on greenhouse gas emissions (CDP).

Megacols are increasingly faced with problems caused by global warming. Experts checked 800 major settlements and found out that 43 percent of them do not have a plan to combat the climatic crisis. A quarter of cities lack even money for environmental programs, and many rely on financing from the state budget.

As the authors of the study, last year, 422 cities had 1142 project adaptation to the climate crisis. About 72 billion dollars would be left for their implementation, but the programs have not received funding. Some countries began to save money due to the installation of renewable energy sources, however, the advantages of adapting to the effects of extreme weather conditions are not obvious enough for them.

At the same time, the experts allocated several megacities that adapt well to climate change: in particular, it is London, Bristol, Los Angeles and Athens. In the Greek capital, for example, landslide roofs of houses and plant trees to cool overheated streets. And in Bristol build large-scale protective structures from flooding.
