ECHR rejected complaints of Saakashvili

The European Court of Human Rights completely rejected two complaints of the former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili. The decision was published on the court website.

In petitions, the politician accused the current authorities of the country of persecution for political reasons.

Saakashvili claimed that the sentences made against him on January 5 and June 28, 2018 were based on unverified rumors and other unreliable evidence. “

“The court unanimously recognized the unacceptable both complaints of the plaintiff 6232/20 and 22394/20 under Article 18 of the ECHR,” the verdict said in the verdict.

Claims were also rejected in the framework of articles 6 and 7.
