Egypt was faced with threat of hunger

The World Bank agreed to send funds to Egypt to increase food security, writes Reuters.

The Ministry of International Cooperation of the Arab Republic stated that the country has difficulties with food against the background of the consequences of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine. The money received from the World Bank will go to the purchase of wheat for the country’s reserves, as well as to modernize grain storage places. There are plans to increase their capacity. This will help Egypt preserve and increase the strategic stocks of wheat.
