Eiffel Tower Rusted and can collapse

Since 2010, the Eiffel Tower in Paris suffers from metal corrosion and without immediate repairs can experience destruction, writes the French edition of Marianne.

According to the sources of the publication, the Eiffel Tower is in a neglected state – “In some places, rust eats it like a tree, the newspaper writes. The reason is the iron from which the monument is made, comes into contact with water and oxygen in those places where the paint falls off through age.

In 2018, the 20th repair of the tower for the Olympic Games-2024 began, in the framework of which it was supposed to clean a third of the structure and apply two layers of new paint to it to restrain corrosion. However, due to the pandemic of coronavirus, the work had to be postponed; In addition, lead was found in the old paint. As a result, repairs will be “cosmetic” and cover only 5% of the Eiffel Tower.

“It is unlikely that she will fall tomorrow morning, but she is really not in very good condition,” the unnamed leader of the place where the Eiffel Tower is located told the publication.
