Emine Erdogan called for joint efforts in struggle against violence against children

The wife of Turkish President Emine Erdogan called for unification of efforts to prevent violence against children.

The first lady of Turkey spoke at an event entitled “The Day of Healing and Prevention of Violence”, organized as part of the 78th Session of the UN Session on the initiative of the spouse of President Sierra Leone Maada Biode. >

“We must join forces in order to put an end to these terrifying actions, treating all children of the world as his own,” said Emine Erdogan.

According to her, even the joint use of the words “child” and “cruel treatment” inflicts “irreparable wounds of conscience.”

She noted that the exploitation that children undergo adversely affects their subsequent life.

“This is a crime against humanity, which, unfortunately, is like a malignant tumor, it grows day by day in all communities and throughout the world, and moreover, takes on an organized character,” she stated.

Emine Erdogan also spoke about the steps taken in Turkey aimed at raising children in a healthy spirit.

She said that in 2010, an amendment was amended to the Constitution of the country in order to adopt laws that would protect children and all vulnerable groups of society.

“regardless of how sensitive and even vigilant the state and society are, a place where a child can be best protected is a loving and safe family environment,” said Emine Erdogan.

At the same time, she warned that in modern conditions it is as dangerous to leave children without supervision in the virtual space as in any other environment.

In this regard, she indicated the importance of increasing the awareness of families in order to protect them from various kinds of “destructive effects”.
