Erdogan: Turkey did not receive expected support from NATO allies

Turkey did not receive the expected support from its allies in the NATO either in defense or in the fight against terrorism, said Tayyip Erdogan President, speaking at the ceremony of towing the Hyzyrrais submarine and the first welding of the Selmanreis submarine at the Göljyuk shipyard.

“Turkey did not receive the support that she expected from its allies, neither in satisfying its needs in defense, nor in its 40-year struggle against terrorism. Our country has repeatedly been subjected to open and secret sanctions, threats, pressure and blackmail”, – quotes Erdogan TASS.

According to him, Turkey wants to see specific steps from NATO, and not diplomatic statements to combat terrorism. “As a country that pays the price for NATO, we want to see specific steps, and not open diplomatic statements,” said the Turkish leader.
