Erdogan: Turkey operation in Syria can begin unexpectedly

“The operation can begin unexpectedly in one of the nights.” This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“Operation (in the north of Syria – Ed.) Could begin unexpectedly in one of the nights. There is no need for a hurry on this issue. We (military Turkey – ed.) And so we act in these areas both in the north of Syria and the Syria and in the north of Iraq. An even stronger operation will be started at the right time for us, ”Anadolu quotes him.

Erdogan also said that he raised the topic of Syria and during a conversation with the American colleague Joe Bayden: “If you supply weapons and ammunition to terrorists threatening Turkey, what partnership and solidarity within the framework of NATO can be discussed?”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously stated that the operation in the north of Syria can be started at any time, at the initial stage it will be aimed at the release of Tel Rifat and Manbij regions from terrorists. The main goal of the Turkish leader called the expansion of the 30-kilometer security zone created in October 2019 after the Operation “Source of the World”.

Turkish media previously reported that 50 thousand Turkish troops are expected to participate in the operation. The operation, as noted, will allow Turkey to ensure control over the 600-kilometer section of the border with Syria and minimize terrorist threats emanating from the adjacent territory.
