Erzhogan: Ultimatum was put by Consulates in Istanbul in Istanbul

The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkey intends to decide on Monday about what response measures should be taken in the context of the situation with the closure of the consulates of Western countries. This was President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday, February 5, while communicating with youth in the city of Aydin.

“Our Foreign Minister previously called all the ambassadors of these countries. He was presented with an ultimatum that they either stop acting like that, or the price will be high. On Monday we have a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. There we will make the necessary decisions,” Erdogan said .

Last week, the General Consulate of the Western countries in Istanbul suspended work after the statement of the US Embassy in Ankara about the preparatory terrorist attacks in the republic. After that, heads of diplomatic agents were called to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, including the states that suspend the work of their General Consulate (Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the USA, France, Switzerland and Sweden). The Turkish foreign policy emphasized that the safety of all dipecots in Turkey is ensured on the basis of international agreements. They also noted that Turkish security services did not receive any notifications required in such cases about threats from the closing consulates of countries.
