Estonia President is not against Russian language

Estonian President Alar Caris said in an interview with ETV+television channel that he sees no reason to fight the Russian language against the background of the events taking place in Ukraine.

The host of the TV channel noted that after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, proposals began to appear less attention to the study of the Russian language. Caris replied that he did not agree with this position.

“I see no reason to fight languages. The Russian language itself is a cultural language. And Russian should begin to learn earlier than other languages, because it has another alphabet and it is more difficult to master it. There is no reason to fight languages, like There is no reason to fight with Russian literature, ”explained Estonia President.

He also added that “to blame the language is not worth it.”
