The European Union (EU) intends to continue helping Kyiv in the field of weapons while it needs it, the European Commissioner for the domestic market Thierry Breton said on the air of the French radio station.
Also, according to him, the EU should expand the production of weapons for its own needs. “Given the development of the geopolitical situation, we need to strengthen our autonomy, including in the field of defense,” he said, noting that Europe would “first invest in the development of weapons.”
“To help the EU countries to conduct research and design work to create new tanks, drones and ships, 7 billion euros will be allocated. We are already carrying out these works together, and now we also plan to jointly purchase military equipment,” added He.
