European Commission thought about gas pipeline between Spain and Italy

The European Commission analyzes the possibility of building a marine gas pipeline for 2.5 billion euros, which would associate the Pyrenee Peninsula with Italy, El Pais reports.

As notes the publication, it will take from one year to two years to implement the project of the construction of a gas pipeline 700 km long between the Spanish Barcelona and Italian, however, the pipeline would allow the pipeline to supply gas to both Italy and the countries of Central and Northern Europe.

According to the European Commission, currently from Russia, the EU receives 40% gas, 27% of oil and 46% of coal. At the same time, the embargo for the supply of coal has become part of the fifth package of sanctions against Russia. And on May 23, Slovakia announced the imminent completion of the construction of the gas pipeline branch from Poland.
