European summit in Moldova: EU announced support of Moldova and Ukraine

The leaders of the institutions of the European Union (EU) addressed the message of unity to the entire European continent, especially to Moldova, Ukraine and the countries of the Western Balkans.

“We are here to demonstrate our support to Moldova, Ukraine and the entire European community,” said the President of the European Parliament Robert Metetsol at the Summit of the European Political Community in Moldova.

She expressed satisfaction in connection with the participation of the leaders of Western countries at the summit. “We want a more quick, immediate and deeper European integration for these countries,” the head of the European Institute said.

In Brussels, they are impressed by the fast reaction of Moldova to the recommendations of the European Commission, Metsyol emphasized. “We will be ready when Moldova will be ready, because the place of Moldova in the EU,” she said.

In the meantime, the chairman of the European Council Charles Michelle commented on the upcoming negotiations of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the sidelines of the summit.

“I hope this will be a good opportunity to confirm the general political will to normalize relations between the two countries,” he said.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan will continue negotiations in Moldova on the initiative of Michel. This time, German Chancellor Olaf Sholts and French President Emmanuel Macron will also take part in the meeting.
