European Union holds an emergency meeting on gas

EVERTICIA ENERGUITIONS EVERTHOUS OF THE EVERTHOUR EVENSION hold an emergency meeting in an attempt to agree on measures to reduce dependence on Russian gas, BBC reports.

It is noted that last week the European commission suggested that EU member countries reduce gas consumption by 15% since August and March next year. As expected, at today’s meeting, ministers will approve this plan. The draft agreement provides for the voluntary steps of the member countries of the block to reduce gas consumption.

The contract is close to signing, although negotiators from some countries are trying to sell exceptions or create loopholes in the agreement in order to avoid the agreed reduction of 15%.
