European Union introduces sanctions against China for first time in 30 years

The EU Council at the level of foreign ministers agreed on the introduction of sanctions against China for systematic violations of human rights. As noted on Monday, March 22, the Reuters and DPA news agency, we are talking about the first sanction package for more than 30 years.

Ear earlier EU embargo on the supply of weapons in the PRC was introduced after the repression of the Chinese authorities of protests on Tiananmen Square in Beijing in 1989.

Four physical and one legal entity fell into a new sanction list. Their assets in the EU are frozen, entry into the European Union is closed for them.
