European Union is ready to invest in renewable energy of Kyrgyzstan

The official visit of the President of the European Council Charles Michel to Kyrgyzstan began.

Charles Michelle during negotiations with President Sadir Zhaparov said that Bishkek could count on the help of Brussels in the energy sector.

“It is gratifying that you are ready to use renewable energy sources. You can count on the help of Brussels, since we are leaders in the world arena in this direction,” Michelle assured.

The head of the European Council said that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ready to invest in this sphere.

Zhaparov, in turn, noted that the attention of the European Union to Bishkek and the region gives an additional incentive to the development and strengthening of partnerships.

Discussions between Bishkek and Brussels on the text of the new agreement have been carried out since 2017. The new document is designed to replace the current partnership and cooperation agreement of 1999.
