In Azerbaijan, monitoring of the level of breastfeeding of children is carried out. The obtained indicators turned out to be low, said a pediatrician, expert of the Ministry of Health Erkin Ragimov, answering the Haqqin.az question live on the ministry page on Instagram.
The doctor specified that the frequency of breastfeeding until the first six months is low. “The nursing mothers have a very low risk of postpartum depression. And due to the hormones distinguished by breastfeeding hormones, the uterus is restored faster, breast cancer of nursing women is prevented,” the pediatrician added.
According to Ragimov, mothers themselves sometimes complain that they have become much less milk. But the baby’s stomach is very small, and even a small amount of breast milk will be useful for him.
The doctor recommends that the nursing mothers eat properly, not overeat and drink a lot of fluids.
