Exports from Turkey in May grew by 48.5 percent compared to last year, to 234 million 317 thousand dollars. This was announced by the representative of the Union of Exporters of Turkey Selahaddin Kaplan.
According to him, the export of carpet products from Turkey continues to demonstrate positive dynamics. “Exports grew by 48.5 percent compared to the same period last year. In total, in May, the export of carpets amounted to 234 million 317 thousand dollars,” he said.
Kaplan said that the February earthquakes with the epicenter in Kazakhmanmarash had a negative impact on the production and export of carpets. However, it was possible to resume production and achieve the previous growth rate.
The representative of the Turkish Exporters Union expressed confidence that the companies will continue to increase production, which will also have a positive impact on the labor market.
