Fickret Mamedov: Act about amnesty touched about 1300 people

Act about Amnesty announced in connection with November 8 – During the Victory Day of Azerbaijan, about 1,300 people touched before this day. This was stated by the Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan, chairman of the judicial and legal council (ATP), the State Counselor of Justice I Class Fikret Mamedov.

“This act of amnesty, declared in the continuation of the policy of humanism, the basis of which was laid down by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, on the coverage of the scope of application differs from all other similar acts about amnesty,” he said.

According to Mamedov, the act applies to cases that are both in the investigation stage and in court. In addition, an amnesty is expected to be used in relation to almost 15 thousand people, the judicial authorities, including the penitentiary service and the test service.

“To ensure an orderly and clear execution of an amnesty act on the Ministry of Justice, a corresponding order was immediately signed,” he stressed.

He noted that the daily control over the execution of the order was organized, and the monitoring group was created for the immediate consideration of appeals on this issue, other specific measures were taken.

“As a result, the ministry began the use of an amnesty act from the first day, and today amnesty has covered about 1,300 people,” he added.
