FIFA President about new format of World Cup

“Independent experts told us that the transition to the system in which the World Cup will be held every two years, will provide a cumulative additional income of $ 4.4 billion for the first four-year cycle, and these funds will be distributed among our 211 Associations, “said Infantino.

“These additional income will increase funding from the current level of $ 6 million per cycle to potentially $ 25 million on average per association – a member of the FIFA during the first four-year cycle, while the actual distribution will depend on the principles of FIFA management,” added he.

FIFA will create a solidarity fund, the budget of which will be $ 3.5 billion. Revenues from it will be distributed among members of the organization, which will allow to maintain the ability to mitigate any financial problems faced by any member of FIFA due to changes in the calendar of international matches.
