Forest fires continue to rage in Greece

In Greece, despite the efforts of the fire brigades, forest fires have been raging for the 3rd day.

According to local media, fires in particular continue in the vicinity of the cities of Lutraki and Megar, not far from Athens. The spread of fires is also facilitated by strong wind.

As a result of fires in the southeastern region of Attica, at least 50 thousand acres of forest and agricultural land have become unusable. Many houses and vehicles were also injured.

For security reasons, some settlements are evacuated. Safety measures were also taken in the refinery near Athens.

The Greece meteorological service has spread a warning about the possibility of new fires in connection with weather conditions.
