On the island of Sicily in southern Italy, forest fires continue to rage.
Forest fires in various parts of the island broke out the day before, August 27.
Firefighters tried throughout the night to extinguish the fire in the area between the cities of Trapani and Palermo.
In the trappeto, local residents were evacuated after the fire spread to residential buildings in the outskirts of the city.
