France announced support of negotiations between Baku and Yerevan

France supports the continuation of negotiations between the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the press service of the French Foreign Ministry for a request from the Russian media said. So representatives of the department answered the question whether Paris plans to offer Yerevan and Baku to meet leaders with the participation of the French president.

“France is still fully committed to the support of current negotiations after meetings in Brussels, Prague and Washington,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Earlier on Friday, November 25, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the International Conference “Along the Middle Corridor: Geopolitics, Security and Economics,” said that the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, planned on December 7th. “The meeting in Brussels was supposed to take place on December 7th. But yesterday Hikmet Hajiyev informed me that they contacted him from the office of Charles Michel and informed that the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan agreed to the meeting only if the President of France Macron participated in it. This means that this meeting will not take place, ”said the head of the Azerbaijani state.
