France considers meaningless continuation of Iran’s negotiations

Continuing negotiations on a joint comprehensive action plan for the Iranian nuclear program does not make sense if there is no prospects for progress in the near future, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Drian.

“What is more about to negotiate, if nothing happens. Neither to prevent Iran’s access to nuclear weapons, neither Iran can benefit from the withdrawal of sanctions. If there is no acceleration, there will be no withdrawal of sanctions,” said Le Drian, reports TASS.

The head of French diplomacy believes that the problem is quite the rapid progress of Iranian scientists in the development of the nuclear sphere, as well as the slowness of the Iranian authorities in accepting proposals nominated at the negotiations.

January 3 in the Austrian capital resumed after the New Year’s break of the eighth round of negotiations, the purpose of which is to recreate the CSPD in the original form and the US Return to this Multilateral Agreement.
