France recommends its citizens in Iran as quickly as possible to leave this country due to the risks of arbitrary detention. This is stated in a message published on the website of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The department notes that the French in Iran are at risks of arrest and an unfair trial.
The Foreign Ministry explained that in this context the possibilities of the French embassy in Iran to provide consular protection to citizens detained or arrested in the Islamic Republic are very limited.
