Georgia offers Tbilisi as a platform for dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry David Zalkaliani in the framework of the 2008 Council of Foreign Ministers held in Stockholm held a conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Interfax reports.

As Zalkaliani said to journalists, the meeting was noted the importance of continuing the existing strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States.

According to him, the United States supports the aspirations of Georgia to act as a mediator in the South Caucasus, in particular, in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

He noted that Georgia still offers Azerbaijan and Armenia Tbilisi as a platform for dialogue.

Zalkaliani reported that he expressed his gratitude to Blinken for support from the United States in the integration of Georgia in NATO.

According to the minister, on the eve in Riga, where the meeting of the head of the NATO member states was held, the statement of US Secretary of State was very clear and unequivocal that Georgia deserves that the progress of which she reached on the way of integration into NATO was recognized.
