Government of Russian Federation introduced temporary ban on export of sugar from country

In Russia, a temporary ban on the export of reed or beet sugar and chemically pure sucrose is introduced. This is stated in the message posted on the government website.

“The restriction will be valid until August 31, 2024. The decision is aimed at maintaining the stability of the domestic food market,” the report said.

In this case, a number of exceptions are provided for four countries. So deliveries in certain volumes will be possible to Armenia (the limit will be 28 thousand tons), Belarus (5 thousand tons), Kazakhstan (120 thousand tons) and Kyrgyzstan (28.5 thousand tons).

Distribute these volumes between participants in foreign trade activity is entrusted to the Ministry of Agriculture.
