Greek company transporting Iranian oil will pay United States fine of about 2.4 million

Greek company, transporting Iranian oil, confiscated US in April on the basis of sanctions, agreed to pay a fine of about 2.4 million dollars.

According to court documents, the parties reached an agreement on a claim filed against the Greek “Empire Navigation” for the transportation of Iranian oil.

In the agreement, the company recognized that it transported Iranian oil on the Suez Rajan tanker under the flag of the Marshalls, in which about 1 million barrels of sanctioned oil were discovered.

As a result of the agreement, the company agreed to pay a fine of about 2.4 million dollars.

This decision was first openly recognized that the United States confiscated about 1 million barrels of oil transported to Suez Rajan.

The case materials were kept secret for about 5 months due to the “threat of retaliation” by Iran.
