Guardian: Every fourth American is ready to raise weapons against authorities

The Institute of Policy of the University of Chicago conducted a survey among 1000 registered voters in the United States, which showed that the Americans consider the government to be “corrupt” and are ready to take up weapons to confront it, writes The Guardian.

The researchers of the institute came to the conclusion that society in the United States is extremely polarized. Many do not trust the government, considering it corrupt and configured against ordinary citizens. 49% of the Americans agreed that they “feel more and more strangers in their country.” A quarter is ready to take weapons to defend their rights.

Supporters of Republicans and Democrats are extremely negatively configured against each other. People cannot talk about politics calmly, as before, now such discussions are necessarily ending with a quarrel. Both parties have claims to each other.

Sociologist-Republican Neil Newhaus said: “Although we have recorded the party polarization in the United States for years, these survey results may be the most striking evidence of deep disagreements in the party mood that covered the country.”

In the future, the tension between supporters of parties and in general within American society will increase, since the country has many unresolved socio-economic problems that are aggravated every day.
