Hackers attacked American nuclear laboratories

Hackers from the Cold River group last summer were attacked by three American laboratories engaged in nuclear research, Reuters reported with reference to experts in the field of cybersecurity.

It is noted that the hacker group, allegedly related to Russia, attacked the Brookhevenskaya National Laboratory in the city of Apton (New York), the Argon National Laboratory near Chicago (Illinois) and the Livermother National Laboratory named after Ernest Lawrence in California. All these research centers are included in the structure of the US Department of Energy.

The agency added that it does not have information about the reasons for the attack on the laboratory and about whether they were successful.

Representatives of the laboratories, the US Ministry of Energy and the American National Security Agency refused to comment.
