Ankara categorically rejects the actions of the YPG terrorist organization (the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist organization), aimed at holding the so -called local elections in regions with a predominantly Arab population in the north of Syria.
This was stated by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Yashar Guler during a meeting with the highest command staff of the country in a video conference mode.
“We categorically reject the so-called election preparations that the terrorist organization (YPG/RSC) considers as the stage of creating an artificial terrorist state that has nothing to do with the realities of the region,” he said.
The head of the department emphasized that the sustainable settlement of the situation in the regions located in the “sphere of influence” of Ankara cannot be achieved without taking into account the interests of Turkey. According to him, historical experience clearly testifies to this.
Yashar Guler emphasized that the Turkish armed forces will never allow the separatist terrorist organization to create a terrorist corridor among the country’s southern borders.
