Head of Pentagon supported modernization of US nuclear triad

US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin said on Thursday, which advocates in support of the modernization of the country’s nuclear triad.

“The nuclear triad underlies the strategic containment. Over the years, she has been the basis of our national defense. I fully support and committed to modernize the nuclear triad,” said the head of the Pentagon on hearings in the Committee on the All-Russian Congress Communions.

Thus, he, in fact, acknowledged that the United States would not refuse intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBDs), which are necessary for the normal functioning of the country’s nuclear triad. Austin also recalled that Washington intends to adjust the nuclear doctrine published in 2018.

In the US, discussions are underway whether the MBR is needed in the modern world.
