Hungary continues to protect Russian oil

“Hungary cannot guarantee the uninterrupted functioning of the economy without Russian oil.” This was stated by the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Siyarto.

He noted that Budapest voted for each package of sanctions in the European Union, but always faces unfair reproaches from the organization.

“This is that we frankly say that guaranteeing the energy security of the country requires specific steps on our part. That is why we do not vote for such sanctions that would limit the supply of gas and oil from Russia to Hungary. This is not Political decision, ”Siyarto quotes Interfax.

He added that 65% of oil enters Hungary from Russia.

“At the moment, without Russian oil, we cannot guarantee the uninterrupted functioning of our economy. I want to note that we have no other route at our disposal that could put the desired volume of oil,” the minister said.
