“The Declaration of November 10 provides for the establishment of a connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchyansky Autonomous Republic, and Armenia, obeying, took this obligation. But we still have not received this opportunity.” This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev in his speech at a meeting on the results of six months of this year.
“Lachinsky road is open. In the Declaration of November 10, we committed ourselves that this road will work, and Azerbaijan guarantees its safety. We accepted this as an obligation and adhere to this. But we are not able to drive from the main part of Azerbaijani In Nakhchivan. We do not even see that some work in this direction was conducted on the territory of Armenia.
There is still no technical and economic justification of the railway, which will be built in the part of Megri of the Zangesur corridor. Without a technical and economic justification, no project can be implemented, and its development takes several months. So this work has not yet begun. We are not provided with a road route.
The year and eight months have passed. I repeatedly raised this issue, including three times at meetings in Brussels – during my meetings with the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of the Council of the European Union. We have not been given a route until now. And there are only 40 kilometers.
It is clear that there are not many road routes that you can use at any time of the year and 24 hours a day. So, there is a reason why this route is not provided to us, work in this direction is not conducted, the feasibility study is not prepared. Armenia does not want to fulfill this obligation, but does not recognize this. Therefore, we demand our rights. If we fulfill all the provisions of the declaration on November 10, we demand the same approach from Armenia, ”the president said.
