In Azerbaijani fields “Shafag-Asiman” reserves of gas condensate were found, the state oil company Azerbaijan (SOCAR) refers to Trend.
“A comprehensive geological exploration was carried out at a depth of 7,189 meters in an exploration well, drilled on the Shafag-Asiman block in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, and the first gas condensate reserves were found. Thus, the drilling of the FASIL layer at the deposit was successfully completed. Geological exploration on the Shafag-Asiman block is conducted within the framework of the joint project SOCAR and BP. In accordance with the trade agreement on the field, drilling was carried out under the BP operating at a depth of 623 meters and was conducted by SOCAR Caspian Drilling Company, using the heydar Aliyev semi-duty rig. Drilling began on January 11, 2020.
Schagag Asiman location is located 125 km south-east of Baku. The block covers an area of 1,100 square meters. The depth of the sea here is 650-800 meters. The structure “Shafag-Asiman” was opened in 1961.
