In Azerbaijan’s schools, use of alternative energy

At the initiative of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, with the support of BP and its partners, the project “Heating of secondary schools of Azerbaijan Pelleti” is being implemented. The project is executed by the Public Association of Azerbaijan Volunteers.

Talking about the project, President of the Public Association of Azerbaijan’s Volunteers Imampdin Guliyev noted that “this project involves heating of Azerbaijan schools that are not equipped with gas or other alternative heating systems through the use of pellet fuel.

Pellet fuel – environmentally friendly energy raw materials obtained during re-processing wood and wooden waste.

In the framework of the project in six buildings of five second schools of Tovuz and Azerbaijan districts of Azerbaijan, heating systems operating on pellet fuel were established, resulting in heating in the current winter season. “

Among the national priorities of the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan until 2030, approved by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, providing a clean environment and the transformation of Azerbaijan to the country “Green Growth” occupy a special place. The provision of “green growth”, being one of the main components of this program, actualizes the widespread use of environmentally friendly energy sources in Azerbaijan, as well as the protection of forests and green land.

Today, environmental protection and green life on the planet imply primarily the use of environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources. From this point of view, the proposed project along with the solution of the problem of heating in the beneficiary community schools will also contribute to the creation and widespread use of environmentally friendly energy sources.

So, School Selo Chobanegong, Sarytala, Kiryan Tovuz District, Old and New School Corps in the village of Alimardly, as well as classroom schools in the village of Kochaner Akstafinsky district are equipped with special furnaces working on pellet fuel.
