In Moldova, they offered to unite with Romania in case of approaching army of Russia

The former Prime Minister of Moldova Yuri Lanka believes that the republic should unite with Romania if the Russian army “comes close to the borders of the country.”

“In my opinion, the only scenario is an association. If Romania, together with Chisinau, take such a step, then we will immediately find ourselves under the NATO and European Union security umbrella,” Leske said in an interview published on Thursday on the Moldavian website Timpul.

He added that when he himself was the Prime Minister (2013-2015), in 2014 he found himself “in a similar situation” and he “had such agreements” with the president and Prime Minister of Romania. “I am not saying that it is easy to [realize], but it is not impossible,” said Linka.
