In the Badakhshan mining province, an earthquake of magnitude 6.4

occurred in the northeast of Afghanistan.

According to the US Geological Service (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred at 13.52 local time was in Jirm County. The focus of underground shocks healed at a depth of 206 km.

Earthquake was felt in Kabul and the northern provinces of Afghanistan, as well as in neighboring Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan.

The Taliban administration has not yet made any statement regarding the damage caused.

In the province of Badakhshan, extending in the Gindukush mountain ridges, earthquakes often occur.
