According to the Japanese meteorological agency (JMA), the tremors were recorded at 12.16 local time.
The hearth lay at a depth of 40 km. There were no warnings about tsunami after the earthquake.
Earthquake was felt throughout the territory of Fukushima, in the prefectures of Ivat, Miyagi, Ibaraki and Tiba on the Pacific coast, as well as in the capital of the country, Tokyo.
