In Russia will be offered to produce toilet, office and book paper from limestone. According to RIA Novosti, the author of this initiative economist Alexey Elaskov, the project will present in the forum “Strong ideas for the new time” the upcoming summer.
Elssuk noted that, along with traditional wood pulp paper, it is proposed to launch the production of stone paper – from limestone and non-toxic polymer.
“From limestone you can do both dense packaging paper and office, book and even toilet. If mass production will be established in the country, prices for it will be similar or even lower than regular paper,” he stressed, specifying that the reserves of limestone in Russia are considered inexhaustible.
Such paper does not have to bleach, it is more resistant to damage, including moisture. At the same time, as it is proposed to be used as toilet paper that does not absorb moisture, is not specified.
