The car, accompanied by tens of thousands of people, civilian and military officials, drove from Shueda Square to Musall Square.

Farewell to the dead will take place in several stages. On Tuesday, May 21, the bodies will be transferred to the city of Kum, a sacred for the Shiites. On Wednesday, the mass farewell ceremony is planned in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

The Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared a five -day mourning in the country. Several more countries joined the mourning, including Turkey.

“decided to declare one-day national mourning to share the pain of the Iranian people,” said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
