India: COVID-19 has found a “green mold”

Doctors in India recorded against the background of the previously identified fungal diseases “Black”, “White” and “yellow mold” in patients who have undergone COVID-19, the disease “green mold” at the Indore infected in the city. This is reported on Thursday newspaper Hindustan Times with reference to representatives of the Madhya Pradesh State Health Department.

According to the publication, this case may be the first in the country. A 34-year-old man was treated in the hospital in Indore for the last one and a half months. He had an infection of 90% of the lungs. The patient cured from COVID-19, but soon he began bleeding from the nose, the temperature rose. Doctors suspected his mukormikosis, or “black mold”. But during the examination, it turned out that a man’s “green mold” is an option aspergilleze, fungal disease. The patient is now delivered to the hospital in Mumbai.

“During the diagnosis in its lungs, a green fungus was found, which differs from the Mulkormicosis, or a black fungus. This is possibly the first case of the disease” green mold “in the country,” the representative of the state of the state of the Upariva said to journalists.

Against the background of the jump in the distribution of COVID-19 in India, there is a sharp increase in the number of cases of fungal diseases among the boring coronavirus. Earlier, the cases of “black”, “white” and “yellow mold” were detected. Most of all infected with “black mold”: June 11, the authorities reported on 31,216 cases in the country, the number of deaths due to this fungal disease was 2,109.

As indicate specialists, mucormikosis, like other color molds, are diagnosed in those patients with coronavirus infection, which were in the intensive care unit and for a long time received steroids or oxygen support. The disease is also found in diabetics receiving large doses of steroids for a long time, which is why they decrease immunity.
