Influential congressmen turned to Biden because of Ukraine

The Chairman of the Committee for the Armed Forces and Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Republicans Mike Rogers and Michael McColus called on the administration of President Biden and the US allies to immediately send Ukraine critical weapons necessary for victory over Russia, writes BBC.

The call sounded against the backdrop of growing criticism of Western countries and, first of all, the United States and Germany, due to insufficient volumes of military assistance provided to Ukraine, not allowing it to be a fracture in the reflection of Russian aggression, especially due to unwillingness to provide Kyiv category of weapons capable of changing the situation on the battlefield.

According to congressmen, the current fluctuations in the Biden administration and European allies of America remind them of the 2021 policy when the United States was in no hurry to transfer weapons to Ukraine or impose sanctions against Northern Stream-2, which, nevertheless, could not restrain the Russian aggression. Now, according to Rogers and McCol, indecision leads to tightening the conflict and will cost Ukraine expensive.

Therefore, they urge Bayden and Sholts to follow the example of the leaders of Great Britain and a number of countries of Eastern Europe, who send their armored vehicles to Ukraine, and immediately approve the supply of Leopard-2 tanks, ATACMS and other high-precision ammunition of high-range action.
