Iran: a man and his mistress executed for married treason

The Supreme Court of Iran left the death sentences for married to the 27-year-old guy and his 33-year-old mistress. This is reported by Shargh newspaper.

Men’s wife, who at the beginning of this year presented the police video title of the wrongness of the spouse, asked the court to cancel the execution, but her father demanded a death sentence. As a result, the court ruled in favor of an offended parent. According to Iranian legislation, if the victim’s family will forgive the accused of a crime, a convict may be either pardon, or sentenced to imprisonment.

After 1979, married treason caught in Iran by throwing the stones guilty. But in 2013, Tehran changed the law, allowing the judges to prescribe an alternative execution method, as a rule, through hanging. It is unclear what form of execution this time appointed court.

According to AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL human rights defenders, 246 people were executed in Iran, of which only one execution was public.
