Iran announced arrest of two teachers from France

Iran’s state television on Tuesday, May 17, confirmed the arrest of two citizens of France, saying that they met with protesting teachers and took part in an anti -government rally, Al Arabiyya reports.

According to the Iranian police, the detainees are 37-year-old Cecil Koller and 69-year-old Chuck Paris. France previously stated that the citizens of the country detained in Iran are members of the teacher’s union and arrived in Iran as tourists.

Iran’s guest evidence reported that Koler and Paris flew to Iran from Turkey on April 28. It also showed the personnel of their meetings with Iranian teachers and other activists, as well as their presence at the meeting of protest.

The report said that two Frenchmen “organized a protest of protest in order to cause unrest in Iran.”
