Iran: arrested members of Bahai spied in favor of Israel

Iranian intelligence reported that ten members of the Bahai religious group detained last week were charged for espionage in favor of Israel, reports The Times of Israel.

As the Office of General Intelligence notes, two of the arrested were trained in the center of Bahai in Haifa, and then they formed a network of spies throughout Mazandaran (Northern Iran).

Although the statement mentioned only 12 suspects, last week the Bahai International Community said that 14 people were detained in total, 13 of which were young people.

The Bahai International Community said that the arrests of the adherents of religion were part of the repression campaign, which included, among other things, arrests, beating, demolition of houses and refusal to access higher education.
