Iranian gas supply to Turkey from January 1, 2023 decreased by 70% in relation to the plan due to a malfunction in the Iranian gas transmission system (GTS), according to the Turkish state company Botas.
The message notes that the Iranian side is working on a speedy solution to the problem.
Botas assures that he took all measures to prevent the adverse effect on the country’s gas supply in the winter and additional needs will be covered due to underground storage facilities.
Iranian gas provides more than 15% of the gas balance of Turkey.
