Iran: women without a hijab will track artificial intelligence

Iranian authorities plan to use the technology of recognition of persons in public transport to identify women who do not comply with the law on wearing hijab. This was announced in an interview with the secretary of the Iranian headquarters for promoting virtue and preventing the vice of Mohammad Salekh Hashemi Golpaegani, writes The Guardian.

The idea of using the technology arose after signing in July 2022 in Iran a strict law on hijab and chastity, which is directed against those who, according to the authorities, are incorrectly hijab. According to the new rules, women are obliged to wear a head scarf covering hair, neck and shoulders.

To track the violators of the law, the government will use cameras in transport and public places. Women with an uncovered head will find a special program. After that, the morals will begin to work with them.
