Iranian athletes were punished for unwillingness to deal with Israelis

Iranian judoists are removed from international tournaments due to systematic avoidance of the fight against athletes from Israel. About it reports Bloody Elbow.

Initially, the International Judo Federation (IJF) insisted on an indefinite period of punishment. However, the sports arbitration court (CAS) decided to remove the Iranian national team on judo for four years from participation in international starts. Disqualification is counted since 2019.

In 2019, at the World Championships in Japan, the Iranian authorities were putting pressure on a member of the national team of Said Molaos, so that the latter withdrew from the tournament and escaped the match against Israeli Saga Flour. Iranian has not fulfilled the requirements, despite the threats.

At the Olympics in Athens in 2004, Iranian Arash Mizmmaeli avoided the fight with Ehud Waks from Israel. The athlete was not weighing, exceeding a limit of two kilograms.
