Israel and Lebanon can demarcate marine borders

President of Lebanon Michel Aun said that the country is ready to resume negotiations with Israel on the demarcation of maritime borders, report the news of Israel.

The head of state stressed that the demarcation of the maritime border should be made in such a way that the Lebanese sovereignty does not suffer.

In turn, Israel believes that Lebanon must stop presenting new requirements.

Earlier, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett held a meeting to determine the objectives of Israel in negotiations with Lebanon. The content of the discussion is kept secret, but the sources report that there was no specific decision.

Negotiations on the marine border have been drawn for two and a half years. The first reports about the secret negotiations appeared in the Lebanese press in June 2018.
